We have a special edition of the ITAL TOWER our weekly roots reggae show. In this special edition, we are joined by Roger Steffens. Roger is the foremost archivist of Bob Marley and Reggae Music.
Roger Steffens (born June 17, 1942) is a Brooklyn, New York-born American actor, author, lecturer, editor, reggae archivist, photographer and, producer. He may be best known for his reggae archives, in particular his archives of Bob Marley. Six rooms of his home in Los Angeles house his archives, which include the world's largest collection of Bob Marley material. Based on these archives Roger lectures internationally with a multi-media presentation called The Life of Bob Marley. His radio career began in New York City in 1961, and was co-host of the award-winning Reggae Beat on KCRW in Los Angeles and was syndicated on 130 stations worldwide in the 1980s.[2]
Roger shares with River Theater Radio very special unreleased, never played before studio session outtakes, and personal recordings of Bob Marley. Roger shares his stories of Bob Marley as he describes the context and time around each one of the recordings.
